Officially launched May 2016, Labyrinth is a game for virtual reality, that can be paired with electroencephalogram (EEG) activity, as a treatment for mild autism, ADHD, chronic pain, and PTSD in veterans.
We are about to release three video games for the Oculus Rift, GearVR, and Mindwave headsets. Although playing games using electroencephalogram data is cool, it has a deeper motive. EEG hoods can detect damaged areas in the outer most layers of the brain. It is our aim to help veterans with traumatic brain injury associated with PTSD. These games will be available for everyone, but they will also do some good.
The game won the Bench to Bedside Award for "Best in EAE" for merging gameplay with a health motive. It is available to download.
The technology and code behind this game is available for Open Development and is absolutely Free for those wanting to expand the idea behind the game. We fully believe that this open software will help those working with PTSD victims to further advance the study and find more solutions and healing for Veterans and others.
